Excellent academic work can be done only in exchange and cooperation with partners of similar ambitions. Based on its longstanding expertise and research focus areas, the University of Basel has developed joint programmes with first-rate partners in Switzerland and worldwide.

 

As an expert on African studies, Basel coordinates the Swiss South African Joint Research Programme (SSAJRP), one of eight Swiss cooperation programmes with non-European countries. Swiss science and technology outposts around the globe enhance the visibility of Swiss universities and research institutions in partner countries. The University of Basel cooperates closely with Swissnex offices and Swiss embassies to promote internationalization in the host countries and locally support the Switzerland-South Africa cooperation. The Global Perspectives Programme (GPP) between the University of Basel and Virginia Tech is especially dedicated to scientific cooperation between Switzerland and the US. An overview can be found under Joint Visiting Programmes.

 

Through membership in the EUCOR universities network, partnerships with other Swiss universities as well as excellent international higher research institutions, Basel furthermore offers a variety of joint Master and Doctoral programmes.
